Executive
Director Sali personally supervised the Tawi-Tawi Cultural Dance Documentation,
Sama Baluy/Tepo Mat Weaving Training and Interschool Debate Competition on
Culture, Arts, & Heritage. The output of the Video Documentation on
different authentic traditional dances of both Sama and Tausug people will be
disseminated in social media as campaign for promotion and preservation. It is
also be shown in the local television cable channel of the province. Further,
an Interschool Debate Competition on Culture and Arts, in partnership with
Unified Successors for Change (USC) and #iSpeakforTawiTawi Club, was organized.
It was actively participated by different high schools and colleges, in which
topics on various cultural art and heritage issues were argued upon. Further, a
Tepo/Baluy (mat) weaving training for women was conducted, in partnership with
the Tawi-Tawi Mothers Club Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TTMCMC) and the Unified
Successors for Change (USC); with the 3-day training, some OSY, early mothers,
and the other participants learned the skills of mat weaving which they can use
for their livelihood.
