In the
same manner Manal Sugadol Community Affairs Officer III went to Basilan and
Sulu to administer the closing ceremony of the Yakan Tennun Weaving Training in
Brgy. Parang Basak and Pis Syabit Weaving Training in Indanan, Sulu., wherein
50 female participants benefitted. Tepo or Baluy is a traditional mat weaved
only by women, and is also a vanishing cultural art. With the 3-day training,
some OSY, early mothers, and the other participants learned the skills of mat weaving
which they can use for their livelihood.
