
BaSulTa - The Bureau on Cultural Heritage ARMM conducted a Provincial Cultural Workers Assembly in the three island provinces of ARMM: Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi last September 15-19, 2014. With the help of BCH Cultural Affairs Officers (CAO) of each Provinces, participants from LGU, NGO, Academe, etc. attended the said event. There were about 200 participants who joined the PCWA in the said three provinces. The Bureau aims to conduct PCWA also in mainland provinces of ARMM: Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao.
BCH Executive Director Ardan D. Sali himself, together with, Community Affairs Officer III, Manal J. Sugadol, and CAO Lanao del Sur, Nor-ain Lambitan, hopped from island to island to realize this meaningful event.
"This activity is such an amazing initiative conducted by the Bureau. This will open a door for our diminishing culture to be revived and come into life again," said by Babylyn Omar, DXGD Radio Manager and Tawi-Tawi PCWA participant, as she was interviewed in "Kulterrific, Radio ng Kultura Mo!" a radio progam of the Bureau.
The PCWA will hopefully consolidate cultural issues and concerns of the people from each provinces that will lead everybody to recognize these and come up with an answer. PCWA aims to gather local and responsible people to work hand-in-hand to solve the Bangsamoro diminishing Culture.
